You probably think that your decision making process is very rational to you as it’s been pretty well documented that your unconscious mind is the seat of your emotions. Your unconscious CEO rules the roost of all decisions.

80% of important decisions are made on an emotional basis — the higher the risk, the greater the influence of feelings like trust, pride, fear, anxiety, or embarrassment. Your Unconscious CEO literally engages with the world with all of the emotions of a five year old child.

Dig

‘Dig’, the instruction came through loud and clear although it was impossible to tell where the voice came from.

I knew the path I was on was long but I couldn’t see what was immediately in front of me as the brow of the hill was just out of eyesight.

The wind blew through the trees with an eerie song as the whisper of the swaying grass played out a perfect accompaniment.

‘Dig’ the voice said again, ‘where was it coming from?’ I honestly didn’t know but it was loud and clear as the words resonated through my ear.

Something was coming, I knew that much, something was coming over the top of that hill and it wasn’t something that I was looking forward to or felt prepared to face.

The Egg

By: Andy Weir

I came across a fantastic story that really resonated with me and I wanted to share it with you. At the time the story was listed as anonymous but after some research I found the author to be a gentleman called Andy Weir.

Here’s a link to Andy’s site so you too can go and check out his work. Please feel free to leave comments and let me know your thoughts as I love this piece of work.

Enjoy!

You were on your way home when you died.

It was a car accident. Nothing particularly remarkable, but fatal nonetheless. You left behind a wife and two children. It was a painless death. The EMTs tried their best to save you, but to no avail. Your body was so utterly shattered you were better off, trust me.

And that’s when you met me.
